D-. . OG. Kansas City Chiefs. KAHLIL MCKENZIE
If the Breeland Speaks and Dorian O’Daniel picks were head-scratchers, the Kahlil McKenzie pick was even more so.
The Chiefs went all in on defensive players in the draft, ironically picking a defensive player with the intent to make him an offensive lineman. McKenzie didn’t play a single snap in a regular season game, even though he was on the 53-man roster.
The son of former Oakland Raiders general manager, Reggie McKenzie, this pick leaves a lot to be desired. The converted offensive lineman seems to have given little value to the team, especially since they gave up two seventh-round picks to get him.
The grade here reflects the organization more than the player, as unfair as that may be.
