UGLY: OFFICIATING

I’m not usually one to gripe about the referees, but there were some awful, awful calls in this game. The biggest one was when it looked like Julian Edelman’s thumb had touched the ball on a punt return and the refs overturned the call. The Chiefs would have had the ball otherwise.

There was another play where it looked like the ball had popped out of Edelman’s hands on a catch later on, but nope… It was ruled a catch.

There were three big calls in the second half that took place (I mentioned two already) and all three went New England’s way. The one on special teams made me the most angry because it sure looked like the ball grazed Edelman’s thumb.

If there wasn’t enough evidence on that play, the call should have stood because the refs couldn’t see anything to change the call.

Oh, also, what the hell was that “roughing the passer” call on Chris Jones? He barely touched Brady and got the flag thrown at him. I guess life isn’t fair unless you’re a Patriots fan. They always get their way.
