KC Chiefs: Good, Bad, Ugly vs Patriots in AFC Championship Game
GOOD: DAMIEN WILLIAMS
After the Chiefs released Kareem Hunt, it appeared that the run game might be in trouble moving forward. Fortunately, Damien Williams stepped up and did well in the starting role.
He wasn’t great running the ball on Sunday, but he was terrific in the receiving game. He racked up five catches for 66 yards and had two receiving touchdowns. He finished the night with three total touchdowns and more than deserves that two-year extension KC gave him a few weeks ago.
While I wouldn’t be opposed to the Chiefs going after a running back in the draft, Damien Williams has proven that he can be relied upon in the starting role. Losing a guy like Hunt was a big blow to this offense, but Williams picked right up where Hunt left off.
Williams was second in receiving yards in this game. Another outstanding performance from the former Dolphins running back.
