BAD: RUN GAME/OFFENSIVE LINE

I’m putting these two together because one can only do so much if the other is doing its job. The run game didn’t do well on Sunday, posting just 41 yards on the ground.

Damien Williams had 30 of those yards (he found the end zone on the ground, for what it’s worth) and Patrick Mahomes had the other 11 yards. That was all the Chiefs were able to get on the ground against the Patriots. They had just 12 carries.

The offensive line had some downright disastrous plays, allowing Mahomes to get sacked four times. It wasn’t a great night for the Chiefs o-line, but when they were able to hold the Patriots pass rush, Mahomes could drop some bombs.

There’s no next week for this Chiefs team and that means we’ll be harping on this performance until August. For the most part, the offensive line did okay this year, but this game wasn’t a good outing.
