The KC Chiefs’ season has come to an end, as they fell in overtime to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. What was good, bad, and ugly in the team’s final game of the season?

Well, Chiefs Kingdom… It wasn’t the ending we wanted, but it’s hard not to be proud of what the Kansas City Chiefs accomplished in the 2018 season. They won the AFC West for the third straight time and won their first home playoff game since 1994.

Patrick Mahomes is the reason Chiefs fans should be excited and hopeful moving forward. He got them to the AFC title game in his first year as the starting quarterback and is just 23 yeas old.

There are plenty of other reasons why fans should be optimistic for what’s to come with this organization, but for now… Let’s revisit this game and discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly.

GOOD: SAMMY WATKINS

When Sammy Watkins is out on the field, he provides yet another weapon that opposing defenses have to worry about. The Patriots did not do a good job limiting Watkins at all and it made for an offensive output in the second half.

Watkins finished the night with four catches for 114 yards with a long of 54 yards. He was fantastic and while he did miss a few games this year, I’d say the big contract was worth it for Watkins.

Hopefully Watkins can stay healthy in what will be year two of his contract. If he can, this offense will continue to be phenomenal.
