KC Chiefs: Key Match-Ups vs Patriots in AFC Championship Game

The KC Chiefs host the New England Patriots on Sunday and the winner heads to the Super Bowl. How do the Chiefs match-up against the Patriots?
Titan vs God. Legend vs Prodigy. Evil Genius vs Mad Scientist. Dynasty vs Destiny. Is all of that hyperbole? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Either way, this game between the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots is going to have story lines aplenty.
From an X’s and O’s stand point, watching a master of game planning like Bill Belichick go head to head with an offensive guru like Andy Reid will be mesmerizing. If that doesn’t do it for you, the young gun vs old sheriff duel of Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes should make for amazing drama and television.
Not enough for you? How about the history side of things, where the Lamar Hunt trophy is up for grabs for the first time in the stadium its namesake built. Oh yeah, and all of this is going to take place in brutal weather conditions, with temperatures in Kansas City expected to be in the single digits at kickoff.
This game is like a buffet, with something for everyone. Underneath the spectacle of it all, however, there is still a game that has to be played. A game that will be won by players executing a coaches game plan.
Just because the stage is bigger, doesn’t mean that how you get to the end changes. Just like any other contest, there will be certain match-ups that define the outcome. Let’s take a look at the most important ones that will ultimately decide who advances to Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII.
