The Kansas City Chiefs defense is coming off a big performance will have to come up big again against the New England Patriots if they hope to advance to the Super Bowl. Who needs to step it up on the D?

The Kansas City Chiefs won their first home playoff game in 25 years and now will host the New England Patriots for the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead. The defense played out of its mind on Saturday, but can they replicate that success against one of the all-time great NFL dynasties?

Here are some Chiefs defensive players who need to step their game up on Sunday.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS WHO NEED TO STEP UP – CHRIS JONES

Perhaps one of the best and disruptive defensive linemen in the league, Chris Jones‘ ability to attack Colts offensive linemen Quenton Nelson and Ryan Kelly allowed for his teammates to have good days as well. It provided space for Justin Houston to attack the quarterback, Derrick Nnadi to generate pressure up the middle, and Dee Ford to have the edge.

Jones will need to come up again in the biggest game at Arrowhead in 25 years.

The ability to create pressure from the interior and get Tom Brady off his spot will go a long way in disrupting the Patriots offense, allowing for Houston and Ford to make plays on the edge. Jones’ performance this season has been great, and he will need to be great again Sunday to help the Chiefs advance to the Super Bowl.
