The Kansas State basketball team needs Dean Wade to come back healthy as soon as possible. The Wildcats will have a hard time winning in the Big 12 without him.

Dean Wade is absolutely needed right now. The 6’8″ senior forward makes a huge impact as part of the Kansas State basketball team, and has throughout the entirety of his career in Manhattan, Kansas, and the Wildcats could certainly use him out on the court sooner rather than later.

Of course, Wade needs to get fully healthy before he can actually play. But, according to Kellis Robinett of the Wichita Eagle, it looks like that might be happening somewhat soon.

And that’s certainly great news for the Wildcats. Especially given that the Kansas State basketball team has to go to Ames, Iowa and hope that it can somehow manage to take down the Iowa State Cyclones.

If Wade is back in time to face Iowa State, then the Wildcats might just have a chance.

More from Kansas State Wildcats

Prior to his recent foot injury, Dean Wade was playing pretty well for Kansas State. This season hasn’t been quite as good as say a year ago was in the scoring department, but just about every other aspect of his game has improved since a season ago and K-State could use that kind of production right now.

Per game this season, Wade is averaging 13.6 points (down from 16.2 points per game a season ago), 7.7 rebounds (a career high), and 3.2 assists (also a career high). His shooting percenage has dipped a bit as well, down to 52.2 percent from 55 percent, but it isn’t impossible for Wade to improve upon that as he works to get healthy.

And, in all honesty, K-State fans would almost certainly welcome any sort of level of play that he could put out on the court as long as Wade is healthy.

The last time that Dean Wade made it out onto the court was against Georgia State back on December 15th. Since then, the Wildcats have a record of 4-2 with both of those losses coming to conference foes Texas and at Texas Tech.

The Longhorns defeated K-State by 20 points and that was in Bramlage Coliseum.

Even if Kansas State can’t get Dean Wade back against the Cyclones, the sooner he sees the floor, the better the Wildcats will be. This team needs his scoring, rebounding, and his senior leadership and experience in the worst possible ways.
