COLTS TO BE FEARFUL OF – ADAM VINATIERI

Specialists have always held an interesting place in the Chiefs and Colts playoff saga. Beyond the obvious of Lin Elliott‘s three missed field goals in the 1995 infamous playoff game, or the fact that in 2003 the Chiefs and Colts would combine to not punt the ball once.

Adam Vinatieri has had his own moments of history, kicking a winning field goal against the Raiders in the infamous ‘tuck rule’ game and then following that up with the Super Bowl winning field goal against the high powered Rams. Game winning field goals are littered throughout the veteran’s career.

Other than seeing their own kicker line up for a field goal against the Colts, it’s safe to say Chiefs fans hope the kicker position plays no part in the outcome of the Chiefs game. Vinatieri has kicked far too many field goals to be phased by the moment, and perhaps would be painfully fitting for a kicker to break the Chiefs hearts yet again in a playoff failure.
