COLTS TO BE FEARFUL OF – ERIC EBRON

Chiefs fans, perhaps more than most organizations in the league, fully understand the importance of a good tight end. Eric Ebron has certainly had a breakout season in Indianapolis catching passes from Andrew Luck. If Ebron is able to break out and have a big game in the middle of the pass defense, it could be a long afternoon for the Chiefs defense.

Arguably no position has performed worse this season than the safeties, so it stands to reason the Colts will make an effort to establish the middle of the field and their tight end, especially on third downs.

Establishing the tight end will open the rest of the field for the receivers, especially T.Y. Hilton. Chunk plays by the Colts and their efforts to run the football will limit the Chiefs opportunities to posses the ball on offense, limiting their scoring opportunities.

If Ebron has stay in and help block on passing situations, the defense will be free to cover and attack stopping the wide receivers. Relying on players like Anthony Hitchens, Reggie Ragland, Ron Parker and Daniel Sorensen to cover the tight end is a bad formula for winning playoff games and is a concern against the Colts.
