COLTS TO BE FEARFUL OF – QUENTON NELSON

Rarely do guards end up on lists as feared players, but Quenton Nelson is a special player and recently has been a highlight player as an interior offensive lineman.

This week, Nelson will likely be lined up against Chiefs defensive end Chris Jones and Justin Houston. Nelson’s propensity for destroying and pancaking defenders will be a player to keep an eye on as he goes up against the Chiefs best interior lineman.

Against the Texans, the Colts were able to get Marlon Mack free for 148 yards on the ground as the Texans found themselves down by 21 points very quickly in the Wild Card game. Nelson, along with fellow first round picks Anthony Castonzo and Ryan Kelly were able push around the Texans defense in all phases of the game.

If Mack gets over 100 yards rushing against the Kansas City defense, Chiefs fans appear destined for another long and sad offseason.

Chris Jones is no slouch himself and the Chiefs pass rush is far and away the best the Colts offense has faced during their recent winning streak. Few teams in the league are able to line up a player like Chris Jones with a player like Houston just outside.

If Nelson is unable to help his left tackle against Houston, the pass rush should be able to get home.
