CHIEFS WHO MUST STEP UP – TRAVIS KELCE

Covering tight ends this season, no team has been worse than the Indianapolis Colts, surrendering well over 1,200 yards this season to the tight end position during their 2018 season, according to Pro Football Reference.

In what has become normal, the Chiefs will need to move the ball (also hold onto the ball and score) likely often, against the Colts to win the game. Travis Kelce will be vital in that effort as it certainly appears the Colts struggle to guard the tight end position.

If the offense is able to get Kelce going and involved early, that can help keep things open for Tyreek Hill, as safeties will have to avoid favoring any one specific player. If the Chiefs can own the middle of the field, that will go along way in helping them dictate coverage to the Colts defense.

Do the Colts safeties play back? That helps with the running game. It also helps give Kelce room to operate. And if safeties want to come up? Hit Hill over the top.
