ALBERT HUGGINS – DEFENSIVE TACKLE (CLEMSON)

Albert Huggins, the senior defensive tackle, is getting playing time with the suspension of Lawrence. The big bodied defensive tackle would certainly be starting for multiple other schools. Huggins has played a bit more than some other backups because Clemson has got up on multiple teams early.

Huggins is a quality athlete with a quick and solid get off at the snap. Powerful coming from the 6’3″, 315 pound frame, he is the ideal compliment and rotational player behind elite tackle prospects Lawrence and Christian Wilkins.

Despite being a ‘backup’ this season, Huggins was able to record 2.5 sacks and 3.5 sacks this season. The senior will have to work on consistency with pad level and play awareness if he is going to stick in the league.

Developmentally in the mid to late rounds, Huggins would be an intriguing option for a team that is in need of depth along their defensive front. As a rotational defensive end, Huggins would certainly be an interesting option and a player that at a minimum should be part of the discussion if he is on the board.
