TRAYVON MULLEN – CORNERBACK (CLEMSON)

Much hyped, Trayvon Mullen is a big, physical cornerback with extensive playing experience at the highest level. The Clemson cornerback uses strong arms, physicality and strength to stop receivers at the line of scrimmage.

Mullen’s sophomore season, however, was much better than his junior season. He has, at times, struggled to with covering receivers deep and penalties.

After recording three interceptions and 40 tackles during his sophomore season, the junior did not recorded any turnovers this season and was limited on tackles. Mullen has failed to follow up into his junior season with the same momentum created by a strong second season at Clemson.

Mullen is a player that likely will be over drafted due in part to his size and athleticism. Slow to transition and turn, the Clemson corner likely will need either a lot of work on his technique or be in a scheme that asks him to play a lot of zone, allowing him to keep his eyes directed towards the quarterback and attack as opposed to turning and running.

With all of that said, the Chiefs need help at cornerback and Trayvon Mullen could be the guy to come in and help out in the secondary from the get-go.
