TREVON DIGGS – CORNERBACK (ALABAMA)

We probably won’t be seeing  Trevon Diggs on Monday, as he’s been banged up. However, the junior is about as intriguing as they come. With great size (6’2″, 200 pounds), Diggs is fluid in his movements and quick to react to the wide receiver and the ball when it’s in the air.

The younger brother of Minnesota Viking wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Trevon himself displays, albeit in limited opportunities, a fluidity and feel for the cornerback position after switching from receiver after his freshman season at Alabama.

If there is a concern, and it’s a legitimate concern, is that he just may be the worst tackling defensive prospect in the draft. A former wide receiver, Diggs can do a lot of things and looks really comfortable and talented when defending the pass, his approach to tackling shows his former position.

He often tries to simply use his shoulder to knock down a ball carrier or receiver as opposed to actually tackling. A team drafting him will need to understand they get to teach him the very basics of tackling.

Diggs is a player that would be a great fit for the Chiefs. He would fit the need for a perimeter defender, especially one with good size. He also isn’t all that interested in tackling, which again fits right in with the Chiefs defense.
