WHY DREW BREES DESERVES MVP

Drew Brees is the other main player in consideration for Most Valuable Player and the fact that Brees is still as good as he is at the age of 39 (and soon to be 40) says a lot about him. He’s continued to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league throughout his career, but has yet to win the MVP during that time.

In 15 games this season (he sat out week 17 due to the Saints already having the top seed locked up), Brees threw for 3,992 yards, 32 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Brees leads the NFL in passer rating, completion percentage, game-winning drives, and fourth quarter comebacks, according to NFL.com.

Brees went 6-1 against teams over .500 and had some big time wins in some big time moments. He led his team to a 13-2 record and a top seed in the postseason while only throwing five picks in a very pass-happy league.

Brees did all of that with not having a ton of weapons too. People look at the Saints and think they’re stacked, but there’s a reason they went out and got Dez Bryant. Michael Thomas is the only reliable receiver in New Orleans.

Brees’ age, being the top in key categories, and getting his team to the best record in the league are reasons as to why he could be named Most Valuable Player. Chiefs fans don’t want to admit that, but it’s true. The guy is a baller, even at nearly 40 years of age.
