WHY PATRICK MAHOMES DOESN’T DESERVE MVP

This one is tough because Mahomes would be my pick to win the award. Back when the Chiefs lost to the Rams, however, Mahomes accounted for all five turnovers and that obviously ended up being a big difference in the game. (He also threw for nearly 500 yards and six touchdowns though, but let’s stay on topic here)

The big knock on Mahomes this year has been the teams he’s lost to. Some might say (mainly Colin Cowherd) that Mahomes hasn’t won “the big game” yet and those people aren’t entirely wrong.

All four of Mahomes’ losses came on primetime and in all of them, he was out dueled by the opposing quarterback. He went 3-3 in his final six games this season too, which is worth noting. The defense was a big reason in why Mahomes lost those games, but at the end of the day, the blame will always stay with the quarterback.
