GOOD: PATRICK MAHOMES

For those of you who read my articles frequently, you know that I’m honest and don’t play the homer card. Well, I’ve been saying for several weeks now that Patrick Mahomes deserves the MVP and he should have locked that up this week.

Mahomes never really had a bad game. Had he had a defense that could force teams to punt, there’s a strong case to be made that this Chiefs team wouldn’t have lost a single game.

The should-be MVP had another good game on Sunday, throwing for 281 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The interception was down the field, so it was deep in Raiders territory and they didn’t end up doing anything with that takeaway, so no harm done.

Mahomes finished the year with 50 touchdowns and over 5,000 yards and he’s proven to be the guy we can really count on moving forward. He’s so much fun to watch.

I wrote a post on how the Chiefs will go as far as Patrick Mahomes can take them this postseason and that remains the case here. If he continues to play how he has all season long and gets a defensive effort even half as good as his team gave him on Sunday, this team might be unstoppable in January.
