GOOD: BIG PLAY DEFENSE

I’ve been tough on the defense throughout most of the regular season, but they were fantastic on Sunday. Well, outside of stopping the run, that is.

Any time a defense gives up just three points is worth talking about. Yes, it was against the Raiders, but the first time these two teams met, the Raiders took KC down to the wire, so allowing just three points was impressive.

The Chiefs picked Derek Carr off twice and only let him throw for 185 yards. He was also sacked three times and didn’t look like he had time to do much of anything in week 17.

Kansas City’s defense also forced two fumbles and Justin Houston looked as good as he’s looked all season long. That’s promising moving forward obviously, but will we see this same defense in two weeks when the Chiefs host the AFC Divisional Round?
