BAD: RUN DEFENSE

This was really the only area we can complain about from Sunday’s game and I’d say it’s worthy of a big time complaint. The Chiefs defense cannot stop the run and against better teams, that’s going to be a huge issue.

The run D was gashed by the Raiders on Sunday, surrendering 127 yards on the ground with 100 of those coming from Doug Martin. Martin had 21 carries and was up to 50 yards before many of us could even blink.

The Raiders were forced to throw more since they trailed by quite a bit at half time, but the playoffs will be a different story. Teams will be smart, hand the ball off, and let their run game take time off the clock and keep Patrick Mahomes off the field.

It was mostly a day filled with celebrating, but the run defense has been a liability all season long, and it’s going to be something that terrifies Chiefs fans heading into the postseason.
