BAD: TURNOVERS

One big positive during the Alex Smith years was that the Chiefs were very careful with the football and rarely turned it over. Now, it’s worth noting that the two turnovers were not Patrick Mahomes’ fault, but his skill players’ fault.

Damien Williams fumbled the ball in the first half after the Chiefs had gone up 10-7 and forced the Seahawks to punt on their next drive. The Williams fumble then gave Seattle the football deep in Chiefs territory and they went on to score.

Two Chiefs drives later and with the score 14-10 in favor of the Seahawks, Chris Conley caught the football and started running with it. He then fumbled and Seattle recovered. Not much time was left when this fumble happened, but the Chiefs, at the very least, would have gotten a field goal attempt in.

The Chiefs would have had a much better chance at winning this game if they had played clean football and not given the Seahawks two extra possessions. Hopefully this was just a bad game for the offense in those regards because we can’t have unnecessary turnovers in the postseason.
