Kansas City Chiefs: Scariest Opponents for Chiefs in Playoffs – Week 16
Houston Texans (10-4 and currently the 2nd seed)
Since I’ve last written about this team, they’ve lost a crucial home game against the Indianapolis Colts and barely beat a woeful New York Jets team.
Houston is uber talented, but they’ve displayed that they have issues, especially in their defensive secondary. They currently rank 26th against the pass, giving up an average of 258 yards per game and 7.6 yards per pass play. While that’s still not as bad as the Chiefs pass defense, it’s not good and it will be their Achilles heel when they face better quarterbacks in the postseason.
The real reason Houston would be scary is because no one in the Chiefs secondary could even limit DeAndre Hopkins in a big game situation. Hopkins is an all out stud and he proved that again last week against the Jets.
Hopkins finished with ten catches on 11 targets for 170 yards and two touchdowns. SHEESH the man was ballin’ and there is no reason to ever believe that Steven Nelson or Orlando Scandrick could shut even half of that production down.
I would hate to see Hopkins in the playoffs.
