UGLY: RUN DEFENSE

Well, this one isn’t surprising. The run defense has been a liability all season long and not many Chiefs fans expected them to hold their own against a Ravens team that purely focuses on running the ball.

Lamar Jackson is a running quarterback, so having to stop him along with Gus Edwards and Kenneth Dixon (I recognize less and less names at the running back position as time goes on) wasn’t an easy task. It wasn’t easy indeed, as the Ravens racked up 198 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Jackson led Baltimore in rushing yards with 71 and a long of 21 yards. Edwards had 67 yards and Dixon had 59 with the lone rushing touchdown on the day. Even with the near 200 yards on the ground, it felt like the Chiefs run defense improved near the end of the game, so hopefully that’s something.

The Chiefs run D is going to continue to make the UGLY until they show they can stop the run. So far, that’s been rare for them.
