BAD: HARRISON BUTKER

This one hurts me, but I have to put Harrison Butker in the BAD category this week. It wasn’t all on Butker, but when push comes to shove, his job is to get the football through the uprights and he failed to do so twice.

The first was on a 51 yard attempt in the first half, that the broadcast said was more like a 59 yarder. That one was forgivable due to the length, but when Butker had the chance to redeem himself later, he failed to do so.

With three seconds remaining in regulation and the Chiefs having just gotten the ball back off a Jackson fumble, Butker’s attempt went wide right. The snap and the hold were a little shaky on this attempt, but still… The Chiefs could have won it right there.

Harrison Butker has been clutch pretty much through his entire career to this point, so it’s hard to be real mad at him, but had the Chiefs dropped this game, we’d have been looking back at that late missed kick for awhile. For what it’s worth, he did get the three points in overtime, which were the difference maker. That kept him out of the ugly this week.
