The biggest question with Bell might come down to the amount of money it may take to sign him.

Kansas City is projected to have roughly $44M in cap space before trying to retain some of their own free agents. Pursuing Bell wouldn’t be an easy task while trying to keep some of those pieces in place.

Other notable soon-to-be free agents include Atlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman and New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram. Coleman has underwhelmed a bit as the starter in place of the injury Devonta Freeman, while Ingram might become fully eclipsed in the shadow of young star Alvin Kamara. Either Coleman or Ingram could be primed for an opportunity in Kansas City and make the most of it.

Working to keep guys like Spencer Ware and Damien Williams are also part of the equation. It would be wise for Kansas City to at least try to retain Spencer Ware as a veteran in the system. Moving into the 2019 season with at least Ware and current rookie running back, Darrel Williams, on the roster would seem to ease the uncertainty.
