UGLY: RUN DEFENSE

It was not a good day for the Chiefs run defense, as usual. They were gashed by a very mediocre Raiders run game, allowing 171 yards on the ground to the silver and black.

Jalen Richard was the star of the running backs, carrying the rock six times for a whopping 95 yards. Doug Martin had 18 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown while DeAndre Washington added seven yards on the day.

Week after week, the run defense continues to be a liability and we saw this blow up in the Chiefs’ face in the playoffs last year. It’s going to be the same story this year if the run defense isn’t shored up before then.

While I’d like to put the defense on here as a whole, turnovers were forced and Derek Carr was sacked three times. The secondary still doesn’t look good, but Carr didn’t go for over 300 yards, so that’s a plus.
