Houston Texans (8-3 and currently the 3rd seed)

Man oh man, want to talk about a team that was in the dirt and in talks of having its head coach fired? Then you are certainly talking about the Houston Texans back in September!

The Texans got off to a very slow and stagnant start to which rumors were circling about Bill O’Brian being fired and if quarterback Deshaun Watson was fully healthy and ready to go from his ACL surgery last season. All those doubters and talkers are certainly quiet now, as the Texans sport the hottest win streak in the AFC at eight games and are sporting one of the most balanced rosters in all the NFL.

Lamar Miller certainly isn’t a back that’s going to wow you, but he’s been steady all season long, including his 97-yard scamper on Monday night against the Titans. Houston is scary good and like the Chiefs, they’re young and hungry. They also have a very favorable schedule down the stretch, which could ultimately keep them in contention for the one seed in the conference.

The Texans are a team that legit scares me if the Chiefs have to cross paths with them in January. Let’s just hope that if the two cross paths, that it happens in Arrowhead.
