ROYALS ALL-TIME LEADERS IN RBI: NUMBER 13 – SALVADOR PEREZ (503)

ROYALS CATCHER FROM 2011-PRESENT

There might not be a more popular Royal all-time than Salvador Perez, who sits 13th all-time in RBIs with 503. Perez signed with the Royals at the age of 16 and has been with the franchise ever since.

Perez got his major league call-up in 2011 and played in just 39 games that year. Salvy batted .331 that year and 21 RBI in just 148 at bats. He only continued to be an impact player, batting .301 the next year and becoming the face of the franchise from 2013 and on.

Perez has only gotten better over the years. He’s made it to six straight All-Star games and when outsiders think of the Kansas City Royals, they think of Salvador Perez, who won the World Series MVP for the Royals in 2015.

Perez has hit 80 RBIs the last two years and assuming he hits around there again in 2019, he should be able to jump up as high as number eight in all-time RBIs. He’s got some work to do to crack the top five, but with Salvy being the type of player he is for the Royals, he very well could get to that mark in the near future.
