ROYALS ALL-TIME LEADERS IN RBI: NUMBER 11 – CARLOS BELTRAN (516)

ROYALS CENTER FIELDER FROM 1998-2004

Carlos Beltran had a 20-year MLB career and spent seven of those years with the Kansas City Royals. Beltran was a Royal for the first seven years and won the AL Rookie of the Year Award in 1999 after slashing .293/.337/.454 with 22 home runs and an astounding 108 RBI. AS A ROOKIE.

Beltran continued to impress, finishing his seven-year career in Kansas City with a slash line of .287/.352/.483, 123 home runs, and 516 RBIs, which puts him at 11th all-time for the Royals in that third category.

Beltran was banged up quite a bit at times, but he truly was a one of a kind player and made some truly insane plays in center field. The Royals knew Beltran wouldn’t be returning to them when he hit free agency, so they ended up trading him to Houston in 2004.

From there, Beltran spent the next 13 years with six teams. He got to ride off into the sunset after winning the World Series with the Astros in 2017. Beltran spent the most amount of time in Kansas City and with the Mets, both of where he played for seven years a piece.

Even though he was another impressive player who went on to play for the big dogs, Beltran is a legend in the Royals organization.
