The Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams clash this Monday night in what’s supposed to be must see television. The headlines all week are about two of the best offenses in the league.

They should be, considering Patrick Mahomes, Jared Goff, Tyreek Hill, Todd Gurley and Travis Kelce will all be showcased in the NFL’s dream primetime game of the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams. OddsShark currently has the over under betting line at 63 points! That’s insane!

While all those things are what, in the famous words of Will Ferrell “Gets the people going!” The real story is about both of these teams defense’s and how they’re heading in totally opposite directions.

There is no denying that the Chiefs defense has looked absolutely suspect at times this season, especially through the first seven weeks. They never looked worse than in their week seven game against the New England Patriots where they gave up a total of 500 yards and 40 points. Yikes.

The Patriots also rushed for a total of 173 yards on the ground, averaging 6.7 yards per play and allowing them to convert 53% of the time on third down. Ouch.

Those numbers and that night are still lingering in the back of our minds as we approach Monday night but, we cannot ignore the fact that the Chiefs defense is showing consistent signs of “turning a corner.”
