Starting center Mitch Morse is a free agent, as is backup Jordan Devey and third stringer Austin Reiter. The Chiefs at a minimum need depth at the position and Alec Eberle out of Florida State can provide that.

Florida State has run a variety of offensive schemes under former coach Jimbo Fisher and current coach Willie Taggert. Eberle is someone that,  perhaps he doesn’t start right away, but has played enough football that likely could at a minimum provide high level depth along the offensive line at a position that has turned into a rotating door.

The Chiefs certainly need to do something at the position and may very well do something sooner. I’m guessing the Chiefs re-sign Jordan Devey, allow Morse to walk in free agency due to his injury history and will add some experienced rookie in the draft to provide backup.
