Notre Dame clearly has a lot of great players, as the Chiefs go with two members of the Fighting Irish for their first two picks. The second being Jerry Tillery.

Of their top defensive linemen, Allen Bailey and Jarvis Jenkins are free agents after this season and emerging star Chris Jones is scheduled to be a free agent after the 2019 season. Depth is a must and this is a great draft to be wanting for defensive linemen as it certainly appears from a distance. Early in the process, the 2019 draft will be loaded with solid draft candidates along the defensive line.

Notre Dame employs, at least along the defensive line, a scheme somewhat similar to what the Chiefs do. Tillery would be a great piece to add to replace Bailey on the right side of the defensive line. Tillery has the size and athleticism to be a playmaker on the defensive line, perhaps in similar style to what Chris Jones has become.

I will say, I have no idea if Tillery will be available here. In a draft that is both deep at defense in general and defensive line specifically, there is likely going to be a lull in selections along the position from the top tier players and the next group of lineman.

Combined with the overall depth of the defense, and teams may very well in round two look to address offense, leaving Tillery to fall to the Chiefs and fill a major long term need for the team going forward.
