The Panthers defense was awful last week against the Steelers on Thursday Night Football, but that’s not a reason to shy away from them in week 11. This week, Carolina gets the Detroit Lions offense, who are abysmal.

For one, the Lions can’t protect Matthew Stafford. Detroit’s offensive line surrendered ten sacks on Stafford last week and couldn’t stop anyone from getting to the signal caller. It was a disgusting performance for Detroit’s offensive line.

The Panthers should be able to eat this week against that offensive line, even after an awful performance last week. With this game being a must win for the Panthers to stay in the thick of the NFC South race, their defense has to step up. They’ve got a great rebound match-up on the schedule, which should provide just that.
