The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 9-1 on the year after knocking off the Arizona Cardinals of the NFC West. What was good, what was bad, and what was downright ugly in this Chiefs victory?

Well, this game was much closer than Kansas City Chiefs fans would have liked, but the good guys came out victorious and are 9-1 and in first place in all of the AFC. While the Chiefs did win by 12 points (26-14), this game came down to the fourth quarter, so give the Cardinals props for battling hard.

It would have been easy for Arizona to see their season is in the tank and not even care, but they came to play against the Chiefs. Fortunately for Chiefs Kingdom, the Cardinals are a bad team, and in the end, the better team won.

Let’s check out the good, the bad, and the ugly from this weekend’s win.

GOOD: BREAKING “THE RECORD”

Much like Kansas City was tired of hearing about the single-season home run record that was eventually broken by Mike Moustakas, the all-time single season touchdown record had stood for much longer – 54 years, to be exact. Even with the air raid attack in the NFL now, a Chiefs quarterback hadn’t been able to break that record set by Len Dawson in 1964.

Until now.

Patrick Mahomes tied the record in just three plays and later broke it when he connected with Tyreek Hill for his 31st touchdown of the season. That broke Dawson’s 30 touchdown passes that the Hall of Fame quarterback set back in the day.

Mahomes didn’t have a great day (sad that 249 yards and two touchdowns is considered a “not great” day, but the guy has set the bar high), but breaking the longstanding record had to be grouped in with the good this week.
