Another candidate, and we will go more style than the actual person is the triple option offense. The top name attached would be Ken Niumatalolo from Navy. The Big 12 loves them some passing football.

So, instead of trying to do what everyone else is doing, go against the grain with Ken Niumatalolo. The triple option run offense run by Navy, while not exactly exciting or thrilling, would be such a complete and total change of pace for opposing defenses.

It’s hard to imagine how Kansas could not jump up and win games they likely shouldn’t. Running the ball aides in time of possession, which can help to reduce opposing teams possessions thus limiting their scoring opportunities.

Also, it’s likely far easier to find recruiting ‘value’ or ‘diamonds in the rough’ trying to recruit running backs and run blocking offensive linemen in a region of the country that is doing everything it can to throw the football at all times. I have no idea if Niumatalolo would find the Kansas job intriguing in any way.
