BAD: SECONDARY

The Chiefs were facing a rookie quarterback this week in Baker Mayfield and he didn’t look too much like a rookie on Sunday. The number one overall pick completed 29 of 42 passes for 297 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Tyrod Taylor also came in for a bit and threw for 11 yards.

Mayfield didn’t seem to have any problems against the Chiefs secondary and if a rookie quarterback is having success, how are playoff caliber quarterbacks going to fare against this unit? That’s the biggest worry when this team gets into the postseason. Will their defense be able to stop anyone?

For what it’s worth, the Chiefs did get a big interception off of Mayfield that basically clinched the game, but the secondary still didn’t play well and belong in the BAD this week.

BAD: RUN DEFENSE

The run defense continues to be a liability too. Rookie Nick Chubb put up 85 yards and a touchdown on the ground off of 22 carries and probably could have gone for over 100 had the Browns not gotten behind by so much.

This was supposed to be an area that Brett Veach was going to address over the offseason, but we haven’t seen much improvement. The run defense has to get better or a repeat of the playoff lost to Tennessee could be on the horizon come January.
