THREE THINGS TO WATCH VS OHIO STATE

NUMBER 3 – NO DUMB MISTAKES

By “no dumb mistakes”, I’m mainly referring to the amount of penalties Nebraska has racked up in their eight games so far this season. The Huskers have the third most penalties per game to this point of the season, averaging 9.6 a game.

On the other side of the field, the Ohio State Buckeyes aren’t much better, averaging 8.2 penalties per game. For Nebraska, if they can limit their mistakes and the Buckeyes continue to make their dumb mistakes, the Huskers could stay in this one.

A big reason for why Nebraska started off 0-6 was due to the amount of ridiculous penalties they racked up. They had that game against Colorado won, but an unnecessary roughness penalty allowed the Buffaloes to keep their drive going. The Northwestern game also came down to penalties.

If the Huskers can limit their mistakes, push Ohio State into their normal amount of penalties, and play clean football, Nebraska winning or at least making this a close game isn’t such a crazy thought.
