According to OddsShark, only the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots have a better shot at winning Super Bowl 53 than Kansas City. A championship would not only end a 48-year drought for the Chiefs, but silence Andy Reid’s critics.

Former ESPN anchor Dan Patrick, who now hosts his own radio show, had some harsh words for Reid following his team’s 22-21 upset loss in January to the Tennessee Titans in a home Wild Card playoff game, per Larrabbee.

"“[Former Chiefs quarterback] Alex Smith is not the problem here. Andy Reid’s the problem,” Patrick said. “Alex Smith may not be on this team next year, but he can hold his head up high. Alex Smith had a great year, he’s had a very good career, and he’s going to be playing for another team next season. Andy Reid’s the problem. The play calling — I never know what Kansas City team is showing up here.”"

The game was certainly not one Reid and the Chiefs would like to remember. It could be listed as one of the worst losses in franchise history considering they blew a 21-3 lead to an inferior team, but that would be doing a disservice to all the other heart-breakers Arrowhead Stadium as seen.

Two years prior to that loss Reid was criticized for his play calling and poor clock management in a seven-point loss at New England in the Divisional Round, and a loss the next season in the playoffs to the Steelers — whose only points came from six field goals — ranks right up there with the worst of them.

However, long before Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs losing when they weren’t supposed was the norm. They dropped seven straight postseason games between 1993 and 2010, four of which came at home.

Here’s the deal when it comes to Andy Reid and the Chiefs: They’d be a lot worse off without him.
