Kansas Basketball live stream, TV, start time vs Washburn Ichabods
Kansas basketball continues their preseason on Thursday, as the Washburn Ichabods of the MIAA come to Allen Fieldhouse. Here’s all the information you need to know in order to watch or listen to the game.
Fresh off a 93-55 victory over Emporia State, the Kansas Jayhawks now turn to their second exhibition match. This one will also come against a Division II school, the Washburn Ichabods. While this game doesn’t count on the score sheet, it’s still important for Kansas to play these games to work out the kinks before the tougher foes come to town.
KU wasn’t perfect against Emporia State last week, but still coasted to their first (though unofficial) victory of the season. They’ll look to build on that win in their second exhibition, which takes place on Thursday night.
Here’s all the information for KU hoops fans as the Jayhawks host the Ichabods of Washburn.

Junior transfer Dedric Lawson stole the show against Emporia State, totaling 31 points and 15 rebounds in his first bit of action in a Jayhawks jersey. Lawson joined KU from Memphis last year, but sat out the 2017-2018 season. He and his brother K.J. Lawson will be big additions to this season’s squad.
This exhibition against Washburn will be important for KU, as after this, they dive right into the tough part of their schedule. The Jayhawks open the regular season against the tenth ranked Michigan State Spartans on Tuesday in Indianapolis as part of the State Farm Champions Classic. That’s a tough season opener for the number one ranked Kansas Jayhawks.
After that, the schedule eases up a bit, with home games against Vermont and Louisiana. KU will continue to play non-conference opponents until the beginning of 2019, when Big 12 Conference play begins for the top ranked Jayhawks.
While these exhibition games aren’t the most exciting to watch, they have their purpose. This is a time for KU to work out the kinks and figure out what’s working well and what isn’t. That way when the big time opponents get to Lawrence, the Jayhawks will be ready.
This season, like most KU hoops seasons, has the feel of unfinished business. The Jayhawks came so close to making the NCAA Championship Game last year, but fell just short. They’ll be out for blood this year and they have the talent to make it back to the Final Four in 2018-2019.
