MEDIOCRE: RUN GAME

After taking it to the Bengals on the ground last week, the rushing attack wasn’t good or bad this week. Kareem Hunt rushed for just 50 yards off of 16 carries and the Chiefs didn’t do much else in that aspect of the game. Even though Hunt had that big touchdown run on fourth down, it actually went in the stat books as a pass (not kidding).

Hunt was the only running back to get any carries (where was Spencer Ware?), which was also weird. Obviously Hunt is the main man at running back in Kansas City, but for Ware not to get any carries seems strange.

MEDIOCRE: OFFENSIVE LINE

Despite being sacked just twice, the Chiefs offensive line wasn’t anything special on Sunday. I will say that they did better than fans probably expected considering a third stringer was snapping the ball at center.

Injuries have decimated this Chiefs o-line to this point in the season with both Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Mitch Morse missing the last few games. To make matters worse, Cameron Erving left the game due to injury. He was having some struggles near the end of the game, but hopefully he’s okay.

Mitchell Schwartz, who has ALWAYS owned Von Miller ever since coming to Kansas City, did whiff on an easy sack for Miller. With how well Schwartz has played against the Broncos, however, I don’t think we can really gripe at him for that.

Again, the offensive line wasn’t bad, but they weren’t necessarily good either. There was some sloppiness, but Mahomes getting sacked just twice shows they could have been much worse, especially against a good pass rush in the Broncos.
