BAD: RUN DEFENSE

The Broncos continued to run the ball well against the Chiefs. Rookie Phillip Lindsay totaled 95 yards and a touchdown off of 14 carries and Denver as a team racked up 189 yards on the ground. He would have had even more had his own offense not gotten penalized frequently, wiping out big runs.

Even with rookie Royce Freeman out of the game, the Broncos gashed Kansas City with their rushing attack. Lindsay averaged 5.3 yards a carry and it’s kind of odd that Denver didn’t just keep handing the ball off, as the Chiefs clearly didn’t have an answer for Lindsay or any of the Denver backs.

Anthony Hitchens left the game with an injury and that could be problematic moving forward. Yes, rookie Dorian O’Daniel had some good moments on Sunday, but this Chiefs run game has to be concerning for fans.

BAD: SECONDARY

While Case Keenum didn’t do as much damage against the Chiefs secondary as some of the other quarterbacks have this year, the Chiefs secondary is still bad. Rookie Courtland Sutton torched the secondary to the tune of three receptions and 78 yards.

Emmanuel Sanders added another 57 yards off of four receptions. Keenum went 23 of 34 for 262 yards while throwing two touchdowns and getting picked off once. Kendall Fuller had a hell of an interception off Keenum late in the game (which proved to be huge), but otherwise, the secondary needs help. The Chiefs should strongly consider making a trade this week.
