Nebraska football won its first game of the season last weekend and now that pressure is off their shoulders. This week, the Huskers face a non-conference opponent in Bethune-Cookman of the MEAC.

When the 2018 schedule was first released, October 27th was supposed to be Nebraska football‘s bye week. The season opener against Akron being canceled, however, threw everyone for a loop and Bethune-Cookman was later booked as a make-up game for the Cornhuskers.

With Bethune-Cookman being from a smaller conference, this is a game that Nebraska should win pretty easily. That’s the hope anyway.

Yes, Nebraska lost to Troy in their second game of the season. Yes, Nebraska lost to Northern Illinois last year. This is different though. Northern Illinois was under a different head coach and Troy is a really good team, known for their ability to knock off Power-5 programs.

Bethune-Cookman is 4-4 on the season and have either been rock solid or been beaten pretty soundly. With Nebraska now knowing they can win as a team, this game shouldn’t be a nail biter.

In weeks past, I’ve done five things to watch for, but with this being against a smaller school, I went with just three this week. Let’s take a look at what to watch for as the Huskers host Bethune-Cookman.
