It’s week eight of the NFL regular season and we’re getting an idea of how our fantasy football teams are shaping up. Who should you start and who should you sit for this weekend’s slate of games?

It’s crazy, but somehow we’re almost to the midpoint of the NFL regular season. By this point, we know what our fantasy football team is. Either it’s a playoff contender, you’re on the outside looking in, or you’ve been out of contention for several weeks now.

With another week in the books and now a new week getting underway, let’s look back at my best pieces of advice and my worst pieces of advice from last week. Unlike the last few weeks, I did have a bad Start ‘Em suggestion.

GOOD ADVICE: STARTING JARVIS LANDRY AND SITTING COWBOYS DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

Out of all of my recommended Start ‘Ems last week, Jarvis Landry had the most points. Yes, even more than my quarterback suggestion. Landry had an overwhelming 25.7 points in a loss to the Bucs. As for my Sit ‘EMs, the Cowboys defense did what I expected to, which wasn’t much. They had a two spot in ESPN leagues in a loss to the Redskins.

BAD ADVICE: STARTING JOE MIXON AND SITTING BENJAMIN WATSON

Well, for the first time in three weeks, one of my featured Start ‘Em candidates did not perform very well. That candidate was Joe Mixon, who had just 8.1 points. Mixon was likely on his way to a nice rushing performance against the Chiefs, but the Bengals fell behind by so much so quickly that the Bengals were forced to abandon the run game and take to the sky.

As for my bad Sit ‘Em suggestion, Ben Watson sure shut me up. He had 16.3 points in a victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Hopefully you didn’t listen to me on benching Watson.

How will I fare in week eight? Let’s take a look.
