IOWA STATE

Don’t look now, but Iowa State is a good football team, especially at home. They lost at home to Oklahoma to open conference play, but in the past two weeks have won on the road against Oklahoma State and at home against previously undefeated West Virginia.

More from Kansas State Wildcats

A tough and physical football team, the Cyclones appear to have moved ahead of Kansas State. They’ve always played KSU tough, even when Iowa State was lousy, so what makes anyone think they won’t put up a good fight when they’re a much more competitive team?

OKLAHOMA

Kansas State is neither big nor fast on either side of the football.  Oklahoma is fast and big and quarterback Kyler Murray can both run and pass. This game is not a good match-up for Kansas State for at team that is trying to get on a roll and try to reach six wins and it’s hard to imagine the Wildcats keeping up against the Sooners.

CONCLUSION

My prediction for Kansas State’s final record in 2018 is 5-7 and missing out on a bowl game. This team has not recruited well enough and doesn’t appear talented enough to truly make a difference this year or next.

Other than the game against Kansas, one could argue the Cats are the lesser team in every match-up. It’s becoming evident changes needed to be made and missing out on goals is the best way for the issues to be addressed. Maybe a losing record is everything the Cats need long-term as much as that sucks for the fans now.
