In addition to Mahomes, running back Kareem Hunt had another amazing game in Foxborough.

In two career games at New England he has combined for 431 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns, after rushing for 80 yards and hauling in five receptions for 105 yards and a score in Sunday night’s loss.

In this pass-happy NFL, scoring a lot of points is becoming more common.

Kansas City was also one of nine teams to allow at least 31 points this week, and both they and the Patriots were one of four to allow at least 40.

Was it hard to watch from a defensive standpoint? Yes. Is the season over? Of course not. The Chiefs have won three road games, are 2-0 in the division and 4-1 in the AFC.

A couple of in-season moves — and getting healthy — could shore up the defense just enough to compliment the best offense in the NFL.

For now, Chiefs fans, just be happy Mahomes is under center this season.

And for many more to come.
