The Kansas City Chiefs are no longer undefeated, losing a close one to the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football. What was good, what was bad, and what was ugly in the loss?

Well, it’s official. The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t going 16-0 in the first full year of Patrick Mahomes as the starting quarterback after losing 43-40 to the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football. This was a lot less fun than last year’s game in Foxborough, as the Chiefs couldn’t do much defensively and their offense came up just short.

I’ll be honest. After the way this game started for the Chiefs, if someone had said KC would lose by just three points, I’d have gladly taken it. The first half was an ugly one both offensively and defensively for the Chiefs, but the offense eventually shedded that label and made this a game down to the very end.

If only the defense had gotten that memo. More on them later. Let’s get to the good, the bad, and the downright ugly from the Chiefs’ loss to the Patriots.

GOOD: KAREEM HUNT

After barely being involved in last week’s win over Jacksonville, Kareem Hunt continued to make the Patriots’ lives a living hell. He was a huge part of the passing game, hauling in five receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 80 yards off of ten carries.

Hunt’s lone touchdown on the evening came on a 67 yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes. He, once again, showed that he can dominate the Patriots and he did just that on Sunday night.

Even though the Chiefs lost, Kareem Hunt getting heavily involved in the offensive game plan was a welcomed sight for fans.
