SIT ‘EM

1. player. 31. . Tight End. Giants. Rhett Ellison

Those who see that Evan Engram is out this week might think, “Hey, let’s pick up the backup tight end!” Yeah, don’t do that.

Eli Manning might target Engram frequently, but there’s a reason for that. That reason is that Engram has proven himself as a reliable weapon. Rhett Ellison has had just 11 receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown through five games so far. Not exactly someone I’d be banking on to get a fair amount of fantasy points for my team this week.

Ellison is more of a blocking tight end and with how bad the Giants offensive line has been this year (Eli Manning has been sacked 16 times already), he will continue to be utilized in that role more than as a receiver.

While I get the notion of Manning trusting his tight ends to make plays, there’s a drop-off from Engram to Ellison. Don’t think replacing one Giants tight end with another is the best solution here because it’s not.
