GOOD: Damarea Crocket and Larry Rountree III

Mizzou’s offense wasn’t its usual self on Saturday. Through most of the year so far, the Tigers have a great offense that is primarily dependent on the passing game. However, the running attack is potent too.

Typically, the Tigers run for a little over 200 yards yards and 2.2 touchdowns per game on 4.8 yards per carry according to sports-reference.com. Against South Carolina, Mizzou ran for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns on 6.2 yards per carry. Damarea Crockett and Larry Rountree III were the main reason that Mizzou succeeded on the ground and on offense through the game.

Crocket ran for 158 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, a rate of 7.7 rushing yards per game. Rountree III ran for 90 yards and a couple of touchdowns on 13 carries, a rate of 6.9 yards per game.

Together, this duo carried Missouri on Saturday. They gave the Tigers a great chance to win the game as they were the bulk of Mizzou’s offense.

If Mizzou can find a way to generate that kind of rushing attack on a more regular basis to go along with Mizzou’s normal passing attack, this team would have plenty of opportunities to score on any sort of defense.
