Nebraska Football: Five things to watch vs Wisconsin Badgers
FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS WISCONSIN
NUMBER 1 – CAN OFFENSE PICK UP WHERE IT LEFT OFF?
Last week against Purdue, we saw the Nebraska offense drive down the field and score on their first possession. After that, they did nothing for nearly three quarters. The Husker offense finally heated up near the end of the game, but an argument could be made that it was in garbage time, as Purdue still won by double digit points.
It seems obvious, but in order for Nebraska to have any shot in this game, they have to be aggressive on offense and put up points. Seven points through three quarters isn’t going to be enough to compete with the Badgers.
Adrian Martinez looked healthier last week, making some key plays with his legs, but we still haven’t seen that gem of a player in the season opener. Seeing Martinez have a good game this weekend would be a huge positive, even if Nebraska doesn’t win the game.
Devine Ozigbo had an excellent outing last week too and as a result, was rewarded with the sole starting running back spot in a slew of depth chart changes. If the Huskers are in the thick of things, Ozigbo can be more involved in the offense. If, however, they fall behind early like they did against Michigan, it’s possible the run game is abandoned. Hopefully that’s not the case.
