FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS WISCONSIN

NUMBER 3 – WILL THE BLACK SHIRTS RE-EMERGE?

It was a pleasant surprise in the season opener when the Nebraska defense actually looked pretty good. The defensive line was dominant against Colorado, limiting their run game and sacking the Buffs quarterback seven times.

Since then, however, we haven’t seen a lot to be proud of defensively. They gave up 323 yards and  and a touchdown through the air and 188 yards and four touchdowns on the ground to Purdue a week ago and that was against a team that wasn’t supposed to be as offensively talented.

Wisconsin is capable of moving the football and if Nebraska can’t figure out their problems defensively, the Badgers are going to have their way with the Husker D. Hopefully we see that defensive front from the season opener because if Nebraska can stop Wisconsin in one aspect, maybe this game could be closer than we think.

With the Badgers coming off a bye, however, their offense is going to be refreshed and rejuvenated and they’ll be at the top of their game. They will put up points, but Nebraska needs to do whatever it takes to slow them down.
